Website and business cards for an artist.
Kanika Ranka is an artist who majors in experimentation. The interdisciplinary nature and nonexistence of boundaries is what attracted her to the world of Art and Design.
She is heavily drawn towards the combination of Painting and Fibers and experiments with processes that bring her closer to the quest of achieving “repetitive abstraction”.
Kanika's website appropriates repeated motifs associated with her work into interactive elements that float around her work and act as the first introduction of her work, or a glimpse of it's quality to the viewers.
Using transitions, vibrant imagery, and simple layout the website creates a platform for Kanika's work to express itself and help create an interesting, and interactive experience for those visiting her site.

The layout of SAIC's BFA show meant the viewers first saw artists' business cards before they have a look at the work. Using this as an opportunity, Kanika's cards act as a sneek peek or a prelude to her piece - Luminous 1, a massive 9 x 35ft curtain.
The cards are fabricated using the same processes as 'Luminous 1'. The card initially just contain basic contact information. The colors and patterns are then heatpressed onto them through large disperse dye paintings, creating 500 unique business cards, each hinting at Kanika's work. Wach a part of a larger puzzle.
